1.      To have a bath (ghusl) on Friday. Whoever has a bath on Friday his minor sins are forgiven.…

1. Console the sick and give him encouragement and hope of his recovery.

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما  أن النَبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى أعْرَابِيٍّ يَعُودُه ، وَكَانَ إذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى مَن يَعُودُهُ ، قَالَ لاَ بَأسَ طَهُورٌ إنْ شَاءَ اللهُ   (البخاري 2/845)

Hadhrat Ibn Abbaas (Radhiallahu Anhuma) reports that once Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) visited a sick villager, and whenever he would visit the sick he used to recite the following duaa:

لاَ بَأسَ طَهُورٌ إنْ شَاءَ اللهُ

Do not grieve (do not worry), Insha Allah through this sickness you will obtain purity (from your sins)

عن عبد الله بن سلام رضي الله عنه أنه سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يقول على المنبر في يوم الجمعة  ما على أحدكم لو اشترى ثوبين ليوم الجمعة سوى ثوب مهنته (ابن ماجة ص 77)

Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Salaam (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that he heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mention while he was on the mimbar delivering the khutbah on the day of Jum’uah: “Why don’t you purchase a pair of clothing and keep it exclusive for wearing on the day of Jum’uah, apart from your normal daily clothing?”…

1. Whenever the opportunity arises to visit a Muslim who has fallen ill, do so even though the sick may not be from among one’s family or friends.…

1. As soon as one awakens, one should rub the face and the eyes with both the palms in order to remove the effects of sleep.…

1.       To proceed early to the musjid for the Jumu’ah salaah. The earlier one goes, the greater the reward.…

1. If it will not be causing any inconvenience, then one may ask the sick person to make Duaa to Allah Ta’ala on his behalf

عَن عُمَرَ بنِ الخَطَّاب رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِذَا دَخَلتَ عَلَى مَرِيضٍ فَمُرْهُ يَدْعَو لَكَ فَإِنَّ دُعَاءَهُ كَدُعَاءِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ .…

1.      To recite Durood in abundance.

وعن أوس بن أوس رضي الله عنه  قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إن من أفضل أيامكم يوم الجمعة ، فأكثروا علي من الصلاة فيه ؛ فإن صلاتكم معروضة علي  )أبو داود (1/214

1. Visiting the sick is among the rights that we owe our Muslim brothers.

عَن عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِلْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ سِتٌّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيهِ إِذَا لَقِيَهُ وَيُجِيبُهُ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيُشَمِّتُهُ إذَا عَطَسَ وَيَعُودُهُ إذَا مَرِضَ وَيَتبَعُ جَنَازَتَهُ إذَا مَاتَ وَيُحِبُّ لَهُ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ.…
