Du‘aa To Recite At The Time Of Sehri While Travelling

While travelling, one should recite the following du‘aa at the time of sehri:

سَمِعَ سَامِعٌ بِحَمْدِ اللهِ وَحُسْنِ بَلَائِهِ عَلَيْنَا، رَبَّنَا صَاحِبْنَا وَأَفْضِلْ عَلَيْنَا، عَائِذًا بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّار

Those who are hearing hear (and witness) our praise of Allah Ta‘ala and (our acknowledgment of) His great bounties upon us. O our Rabb, You accompany us (on this journey and take care of us) and shower Your special bounties upon us. (We supplicate) while seeking the protection of Allah Ta‘ala from the fire of Jahannum. 

عن أبي هريرة، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا كان في سفر وأسحر يقول: سمع سامع بحمد الله وحسن بلائه علينا، ربنا صاحبنا وأفضل علينا، عائذا بالله من النار (صحيح مسلم رقم 2718)

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that when Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) used to travel and the time of sehri would enter, he would recite the following du‘aa: 

سَمِعَ سَامِعٌ بِحَمْدِ اللهِ وَحُسْنِ بَلَائِهِ عَلَيْنَا، رَبَّنَا صَاحِبْنَا وَأَفْضِلْ عَلَيْنَا، عَائِذًا بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّار
