Du’aa After Azaan – 2

One should recite the following Duaa after azaan:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا

I bear testimony that there is no god except Allah who is alone and there is no partner for Him. And Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my lord, Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) as a messenger and Islam as my religion.

N.B. This du`aa should be recited after the azaan and after the mu’azzin calls out the shahaadatain.

عن سعد بن أبي وقاص قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال : من قال حين يسمع المؤذن أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له وأن محمدا عبده ورسوله رضيت بالله ربا وبمحمد رسولا وبالإسلام دينا غفر له ذنبه .(مسلم رقم 386)

Hadhrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqaas (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever recites the following du`aa at the time of the azaan his (minor) sins will be forgiven.”

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا
