B012 – IRAN – ISRAEL?

As the dust settles on the Iran-Israel ”12-day war”, many are considering what our response should be. Whilst some sided with one over the other, many remained neutral, unsure where their support should be directed. The Ummah was faced with a similar situation when Khomeini led the “Iranian revolution” in 1979. Alhamdulillah, senior Ulama like Ml Manzoor Nomani Rahimahullah stood up in defence of Islam and clarified who the Shīʻa actually are and what they really stand for. By the grace of Allah, this saved many from being caught in the snares of the Shīʻa.

Once again, this time, through a display of “standing up to the atrocities in Gaza”, Iran’s propaganda machine is trying to portray itself as the champion of the Muslim world. This has again created a fertile breeding ground for the spread of Shiasm.  Tragically, many people are unsuspectingly sympathising with the Shīʻa and enthusiastically voicing their support for Iran. This serves to blur the lines and dilute our resistance to the threat of Shiasm.

This article aims to, In-sha Allāh, expose this menace and highlight the threat that Shiasm poses to one’s Īmān.

Reality of the Shīʻa

Our ideological differences with the Shīʻa are too vast to ignore. Despite their claim to being Muslim, they harbour many beliefs which render a person out of the fold of Islam. A cursory study of their most reliable books reveals some of their key beliefs. These beliefs are irreconcilable with Islam and do not represent true Deen.

  • They deny the finality of Nubuwwah, believing in sinless “Imāms” equal to or greater in rank than the Ambiyā’ (‘Alayhimus-Salām). These Imams are authorized to shape the religion as they see fit.
  • They twist the meanings of the Qur’ān Karīm to suit their beliefs, with the major scholars of Shīʻasm promoting the false notion that the Qur’ān Karīm was corrupted and changed by man.
  • They believe that (Naʻoozhubillah – Allah Ta’ālā forbid) the majority of the Sahābah (Radhiyallāhu ‘Anhum) turned apostate and left Islam. They harbour extreme contempt and hatred for the Khulafā Rāshidīn and the Noble Wives of Nabi Sallallāhu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam. Their leaders, such as Khomeini, refer to the Noble Sahabah Radhiyallāhu ‘Anhum, like Ayesha Radhiyallāhu ‘Anha and Muawiya Radhiyallāhu ‘Anhu, as being worse than pigs and dogs. (Naʻoozhubillah – May Allah Ta’ālā protect us from such absurdity).

Why we can’t support Iran!

Iran and the Shīʻa’s role in opposing Islām and the Muslims is one that, though possibly worse than Israel’s, is not very well known. They are characterised by their hatred for the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah. History bears testimony to their treachery against the Muslims.

Once in power, the Shīʻa exhibit extreme brutality. After the takeover of Iran by the Safavid Shīʻa, hundreds of thousands of Muslims were slaughtered in a mass forced conversion to Shīʻasm.

In recent years, Iran was complicit in and supported the devastating slaughter of Muslims in Syria; this was no less than the genocide being perpetrated in Gaza today. Estimates put the number at over 500,000 innocent Muslims mercilessly tortured and murdered in Syria. Masājid were destroyed, and many were forcefully evicted from their homes. It is typical of the Shīʻa to, on the one hand, claim to support Muslims while, on the other hand, butcher them mercilessly.

Were the Iranian “attacks” on Israel in support of Gaza?

Let us scrutinize a few simple facts:

Eighteen months into the relentless bombing of Gaza, the Iranian response was nothing more than threats and slogans. A few bombs on Tehran and, all of a sudden, Iran was able to strike Israel? Was this in support of Gaza or just a response to the attack on its sovereignty and power?

Then, in just 12 days, Iran agrees to a ceasefire with Israel while the bombing and starvation in Gaza intensify? Again, did this provide any relief to the suffering of the Muslims in Gaza?

But they are the only ones who challenged Israel?

Even if Iran did cause harm to Israel, the most we can say is that Allāh Ta’ālā allowed one oppressor to inflict harm on another.

Allāh Ta’ālā says in the Qur’an Karīm.

“In this way, we appoint some oppressors over others, due to what they (themselves) have earned (of disbelief and sins)” (Qur’ān Karīm, 6/129)

Sectarian strife?

Referring to our response to Iran and Shiasm as mere sectarian strife is just another attempt by its supporters to buy legitimacy for the Shīʻa regime of Iran.

In the complex world of politics and modern warfare, one can never truly take anything at face value. Events are not always as they seem, with many role players and puppeteers operating behind the scenes.

A Mu’min is not hasty, nor is he caught out twice. Nabi Sallallāhu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam mentioned: “Composure is from Allāh, and hastiness is from shaytān.” We do not need to align ourselves or “pick a side” immediately, especially when both parties have long histories of oppression of Muslims.

In conclusion, Muslims are yearning for proper leadership. However, that leadership can never come from the current Iranian regime. Protecting our ‘Aqīdah and the lives of innocent Muslims is most important, far more than rallying behind whoever speaks our ideals.

May Allāh Ta’ālā guide us to identify falsehood when we see it and may He protect us and save us from falling into the traps of shaytaan. Āmīn
