Duaas

One should recite Surah Mulk and Surah Sajdah before retiring to bed.

عن جابر : أن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم كان لا ينام حتى يقرأ آلم تنزيل وتبارك الذي بيده الملك (ترمذي رقم 2892)

One should recite the following ten Aayaat at night; the four beginning verses of Surah Baqarah, Aayatul Kursi and its following two verses, and the last three verses of Surah Baqarah.…

One should recite Tasbeeh-e-Faatimi before retiring to bed: i.e. 33 times Subhaanallah, 33 times Alhamdulillah, and 34 times Allahu Akbar.…

One should recite Surah Zumar and Surah Bani Israa’eel before sleeping

عن أبي لبابة قال قالت عائشة رضي الله عنها : كان النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم لا ينام حتى يقرأ الزمر وبني إسرائيل (ترمذي رقم 3405)

Hadhrat Abu Lubaabah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Hadhrat Aaisha (Radhiyallahu Anha) said: “Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) would not sleep until he recited Surah Zumar and Surah Bani Israa’eel.”…

One should recite the following Duaa upon awakening:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who granted us life after death and to Him is our return.…

After the faraaidh and the sunnats that are performed with it, the most virtuous of all nafl salaah is the tahajjud salaah.…

One should recite the following Duaa upon awakening:

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِذَنْبِى وَأَسْأَلُكَ رَحْمَتَكَ اللَّهُمَّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا وَلاَ تُزِغْ قَلْبِى بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنِى وَهَبْ لِى مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ

There is none worthy of worship besides You.…

One should recite the following Duaa at the time of Tahajjud:

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

O Allah, all praise belongs to You and You are the sustainer of the heavens and the Earth and whatever is contained within them.…

One should recite the following Duaa when turning from side to side while sleeping at night:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ، رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ

There is none worthy of worship besides Allah, the One who is Alone (in His Being and attributes), the Conqueror, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving

عن عائشة، قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا تضور من الليل قال: لا إله إلا الله الواحد القهار، رب السماوات والأرض وما بينهما العزيز الغفار (صحيح ابن حبان رقم 5530, سنن النسائى الكبرى رقم 7641)
