Duaas

At the time of wearing one’s clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اللَّهُمَّ إني أسألُكَ منْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا هُوَ لَهُ، وأعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا هُوَ لَهُ

O Allah, I ask You (to bless me) with the good of it (i.e.…

One should recite the following Duaa ten times after Fajr salaah before moving from his place:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الملْكُ وَلَهُ الحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

There is no deity besides Allah Ta’ala, who is alone (and) has no partner.…

When wearing new clothes, one should recite the following Duaa

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

O Allah, for You alone is all praise.…

One should say ‘bismillah’ before commencing the meal. Similarly, one should eat with his right hand and eat from the side of the plate which is before him.…

When wearing new clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي مَا اُوَارِي بِهِ عَوْرَتي وَ أَتَجَمَّلُ بِهِ فِي حَيَاتِي

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who has clothed me with such (new) clothing through which I am able to conceal my private parts, and through which I am able to beautify myself in my life.…

It is permissible to eat individually as well as eating together. However, eating together is better as it is a means of barakah.…

When removing one’s clothing, one should recite the following duaa:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ

(I commence removing my clothes) with the name of Allah Ta‘ala, the Being regarding whom there is no Deity besides Him

عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ستر بين أعين الجن وعورات بني آدم أن يقول الرجل المسلم إذا أراد أن يطرح ثيابه: بسم الله الذي لا إله إلا هو.…

One should recite the following duaa before eating

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبَرَكَةِ اللهِ

In the name of Allah Ta’ala, and with the blessings of Allah Ta’ala.…

When performing istikhaarah, one should first perform two rakaats nafl salaah. Thereafter, one should recite the following Duaa:

أَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْتَخِيْرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيْم فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلاَ أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلاَ أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلاَّمُ الْغُيُوْب أَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِّيْ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ وَمَعَاشِيْ وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِيْ فَاقْدِرْهُ لِيْ وَيَسِّرْهُ لِيْ ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِيْ فِيْه وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِّيْ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ وَمَعَاشِيْ وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِيْ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّيْ وَاصْرِفْنِيْ عَنْهُ وَاقْدِرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِيْ بِه

O Allah!…

If one forgets to say bismillah before eating, one should recite the following duaa when one remembers:

بِسْمِ اللهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ

(I commence) with the name of Allah Ta’ala at the beginning and the end.…
