Sunnats and Aadaab of Tilaawat of the Qur’aan Majeed – Part 13

1. Upon completion of the Qur’aan Majeed, one should engage in duaa as this is a time when duaas are accepted.

عن العرباض بن سارية قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: من صلى صلاة فريضة فله دعوة مستجابة، ومن ختم القرآن فله دعوة مستجابة. رواه الطبراني، وفيه عبد الحميد بن سليمان وهو ضعيف. (مجمع الزوائد رقم 11712)

Hazrat Irbaad ibn Saariyah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “The one who performs his fard salaah (in the prescribed manner), then for him is a duaa that will surely be answered. The one who completes the Qur’aan Majeed, then for him is a duaa that will surely be answered.”

وعن ثابت أن أنس بن مالك كان إذا ختم القرآن جمع أهله وولده فدعا لهم. رواه الطبراني، ورجاله ثقات. (مجمع الزوائد رقم 11713)

Hazrat Thaabit (rahimahullah) reports that whenever Hazrat Anas ibn Maalik (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) would complete the Qur’aan Majeed, he would gather his family and children and thereafter make duaa for them.
