The special link and connection with Allah Ta‘ala

Once a person asked Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahimahullah) the following question, “Can a person’s nisbat (the special link and connection) with Allah Ta‘ala get affected through him displaying bad character and treating people badly?”

Hazrat Shaikh (rahimahullah) replied, “Yes! When a person gets involved in evil actions and commits major sins, then his evil actions cause him to lose his nisbat (the special link and connection which he enjoys) with Allah Ta‘ala.”

The person next enquired, “After losing the nisbat, is it possible for one to regain it?”

Hazrat Shaikh (rahimahullah) answered, “Yes, it is possible for one to regain it. However, acquiring it the second time will not be as easy as the first time. Rather, much effort will be required to regain the nisbat which one had lost.”
