Sunnats and Aadaab of Ghusl- Part 1

1. Bath in such a place where no one can see you. It is better to perform ghusl with the satr area covered. However, if one is in an enclosed area (e.g. bathroom) and one performs ghusl without the satr covered, it will be permissible.

Hazrat Ya’laa (radhiyallahu anhu) reports that on one occasion, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) saw a person performing ghusl in the open, without a lower garment (i.e. with his private parts exposed). Later on, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ascended the mimbar, praised Allah Ta’ala and glorified Him, and thereafter said, “Indeed Allah Ta’ala is modest (i.e. He deals with His servants with the highest level of modesty and respect) and He is concealed (from the eyes of His servants), He likes (His servants to adopt) hayaa and concealment (when relieving themselves or bathing, etc). Hence, when any one of you performs ghusl, he should conceal his body.”
