Sunnats and Aadaab of Clothing – Part 11

1. The best clothing for one to wear is that which is worn by the pious and righteous.

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم  (أبو داود رقم 4033)

Hadhrat ibn Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “The one who emulates a people will be counted from amongst them (in the court of Allah Ta’ala).”

2. When taking off one’s clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ

In the name of Allah, besides whom there is no Deity

عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ستر بين أعين الجن وعورات بني آدم أن يقول الرجل المسلم إذا أراد أن يطرح ثيابه: بسم الله الذي لا إله إلا هو. (عمل اليوم واليلة رقم 272 ، الأذكار للنووي رقم 53)

Hadhrat Anas (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The veil between the eyes of the jinnaat and the private parts of a person is that at the time of removing his clothes, he recites the following duaa:
