1. When making duaa one should beg Allah Ta’ala for his needs with complete hope that Allah Ta’ala will answer his duaa.…

1. At the time of  wearing one’s clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِن غَيرِ حَولٍ مِّنِّي وَلَا قُوَّة

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who has clothed me with this (clothing) and granted it to me without any effort or ability from my side.…

1. The du`aa should be short and comprehensive. e.g:

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

O my Rabb, grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the fire of Jahannum.…

1. When wearing new clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي مَا اُوَارِي بِهِ عَوْرَتي وَ أَتَجَمَّلُ بِهِ فِي حَيَاتِي

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who has clothed me with such clothing through which I am able to conceal my private parts, and through which I am able to beautify myself in my life.…

1. While making duaa, one’s heart should be turned towards Allah Ta’ala alone. One should not place one’s hope on anything besides Allah Ta’ala.…

1. When wearing any new clothing, one should recite the following Duaa

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

O Allah, for You alone is all praise.…

1. At the completion of the du`aa, one should say Aameen.

عن أبي مصبح المقرائى قال كنا نجلس إلى أبى زهير النميرى  وكان من الصحابة  فيتحدث أحسن الحديث فإذا دعا الرجل منا بدعاء قال اختمه بآمين فإن آمين مثل الطابع على الصحيفة.…

1. When one intends wearing any new clothing, then it is preferable that he wears it for the first time on a Friday.…

1. Upon completion of the du’aa, one should rub the palms over the face.

عن عمر رضي الله عنه قال : كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا رفع يديه في الدعاء لم يحطهما حتى يمسح بهما وجهه.…

1. One should not feel ashamed to expose his identity as a Muslim and adopt the sunnah attire in his life.…
