1. At the time of  wearing one’s clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِن غَيرِ حَولٍ مِّنِّي وَلَا قُوَّة

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who has clothed me with this (clothing) and granted it to me without any effort or ability from my side.…

1. The clothes that one wears should not be tight fitting or body hugging. One should wear loose clothing.…

1. When wearing new clothes, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي مَا اُوَارِي بِهِ عَوْرَتي وَ أَتَجَمَّلُ بِهِ فِي حَيَاتِي

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who has clothed me with such clothing through which I am able to conceal my private parts, and through which I am able to beautify myself in my life.…

1. The kurta and topi is among the sunnah attire for men. It is reported in the Ahaadith that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and the Sahaabah used to wear kurtas and topis.…

1. When wearing any new clothing, one should recite the following Duaa

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

O Allah, for You alone is all praise.…

1. Men should not wear clothing that resembles ladies, nor should women wear clothing that resembles men.…

1. One should place the dirty clothing in the place that is designated for keeping such clothing e.g.…

1. One should wear long sleeve kurtas. It is inappropriate for one to wear short-sleeve kurtas in public.…

1. When removing clothes, then one should commence removing the clothing from the left side.                                                                           

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ باليمين وإذا نزع فليبدأ بالشمال فلتكن اليمنى أولهما تنعل وآخرهما تنزع (ترمذي رقم 1779)

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “When anyone of you puts on his shoes, then he should commence from the right foot, and when removing (his shoes), then he should commence from the left foot so that the right foot be the first in wearing and the last in removing.” …

1. Men are only allowed to wear silver rings. They are not allowed to wear any other type of rings besides silver.…
