Aadaab of Business and Dealings – Part 1

1. A business transaction should be concluded with mutual consent. No party should be forced to carry out the transaction.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا أَمْوَالَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِالْبَاطِلِ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنكُمْ  (النساء : ٢٩)

O you who believe, do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly except through (lawful) transactions concluded with mutual consent among yourselves

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: لا يفترقن اثنان إلا عن تراض. (سنن أبي داود رقم 3458)

Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The two people transacting should not separate (from any transaction) except a transaction concluded with mutual consent.”
