Sunnats and Aadaab of Tilaawat of the Qur’aan Majeed – Part 6

1. One of the rights of the Qur’aan Majeed is to ponder over its content and meaning in order that one may practice on the injunctions of the Qur’aan Majeed correctly. Hence, together with reciting the Qur’aan Majeed, one should also endeavour to learn the meaning of the various surahs of the Qur’aan Majeed. This should be done under a qualified aalim. One should not resort to self-study.

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا (سورة محمد:24)

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’aan, or are there locks upon (their) hearts?
