Sunnats and Aadaab of Jum'uah – Part 1

1.      To have a bath (ghusl) on Friday. Whoever has a bath on Friday his minor sins are forgiven.

عن عتيق أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم من اغتسل يوم الجمعة كفرت عنه ذنوبه وخطاياه (الترغيب والترهيب 1/556)

Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: The one who has a ghusal on the day of Jum’uah, his minor sins are forgiven.

2.      One should remove unwanted hair and clip one’s nails on the day of Jum’uah. ^[1]

3.      One should clean his mouth with the miswaak and apply ‘itr.

عن عبد الرحمن بن أبى سعيد الخدرى عن أبيه رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال غسل يوم الجمعة على كل محتلم وسواك ويمس من الطيب ما قدر له  (مسلم 1/280)

Hadhrat Abu Saeed Khudri (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Every baaligh person should perform ghusal on the day of Jum’uah, make miswaak and apply any ‘itr that he is able to apply.
