Sunnats and Aadaab of Greeting (Salaam) – Part 8

Salaam1. One should make salaam upon entering the home. If there is no one present within the home, he should make salaam by saying “Assalaamu Alaina Wa ‘ala ‘Ibaadillahis Saaliheen”.

Hadhrat Anas (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) once said to me: "O my beloved son, upon entering your home, greet your family (i.e. the inmates of the home) with salaam. This will be a means of earning blessings for yourself and your family."

It is reported that Hadhrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhuma) mentioned regarding a person who enters a home or the Musjid wherein no one is present, that he should say Assalaamu Alaina Wa ‘ala ‘Ibaadillahis Saaliheen.”
