Duaas

At night while sleeping, if one changes his posture and recites بِسْمِ اللهِ  ten times,  سُبْحَانَ الله ten times,  آمَنْتُ بِاللهِ وَكَفَرْتُ بِالطَّاغُوت ten times, he will be saved from everything that he fears (bad dreams, evil of Shaytaan etc.)…

Before commencing one’s tahajjud salaah, one should recite the following Duaa:

اللهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرَائِيلَ، وَمِيكَائِيلَ، وَإِسْرَافِيلَ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، أَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ، اهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ، إِنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

O Allah, the Rabb of Hadhrat Jibreel, Mika’eel and Israafeel, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the hidden and the apparent, You judge between Your servants in that which they differ, guide me to the truth in matters of difference with Your permission, surely You guide who You wish to the straight path.  …

One should recite Bismillah before entering the toilet

عن علي رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال: ستر ما بين أعين الجن وعورات بني آدم إذا دخل أحدهم الخلاء أن يقول بسم الله (ترمذي رقم 606)

Hazrat Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The veil for the jinnaat not staring at the private parts of a person is the recitation of Bismillah at the time one enters the toilet.”…

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) would recite the following surahs in his witr salaah: Surah Aa’laa in the first rakaat; Surah Kaafiroon in the second rakaat; Surah Ikhlaas in the third rakaat.…

Before entering the toilet one should recite the following duaa:

اَللّهُمَّ اِنِّى اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الخُبُثِ وَ الخَباَئِث

O Allah I seek Your protection from the male and female jinnaat.…

One should recite Dua-e-Qunoot in the third rakaat of witr. The Dua-e-Qunoot is as follows:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعِينُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ ، وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ ، وَلاَ نَكْفُرُكَ ، وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ يَفْجُرُكَ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ ، وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَى وَنَحْفِدُ ، نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ ، إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ الْجِدَّ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ

O Allah!…

Upon seeing a bad dream, one should make wudhu and engage in salaah

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: والرؤيا ثلاثة: فرؤيا الصالحة بشرى من الله، ورؤيا تحزين من الشيطان، ورؤيا مما يحدث المرء نفسه، فإن رأى أحدكم ما يكره فليقم فليصل، ولا يحدث بها الناس (مسلم رقم 2263)

One should recite the following duaa upon leaving the toilet:

غُفرَانَكَ

O Allah. I seek your forgiveness

عن عائشة رضى الله عنها قالت كان النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم اذا خرج من الخلاء قال غفرانك.…

The following Duaa is also reported in the Hadith as a Duaa to be recited in the Qunoot of witr:

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِى فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَعَافِنِى فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِى فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَبَارِكْ لِى فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِى شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ إِنَّكَ تَقْضِى وَلاَ يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ وَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ وَلاَ يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ

O Allah, guide me along with those whom you have guided, grant me ease along with those whom you have granted ease, protect and take charge of my affairs along with those whom You have protected and taken charge of their affairs, grant me barakah (blessings) in all that You have granted me, save me from the harm of that which You have decreed.…

If one experiences bad dreams, fear, uneasiness or sleeplessness at night, he should recite the following duaa:

 بِسمِ اللهِ أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِن غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِه وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ وَمِن همَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِين وَأَن يَحْضُرُون
