Duaas

One should recite the following Duaa after azaan:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا

I bear testimony that there is no god except Allah who is alone and there is no partner for Him.…

One should recite the following duaa after salaah:

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْر

O Allah, the Rabb of Jibreel, Mikaa’eel and Israafeel (Alayhimus Salaam), save me from the heat of the fire of Jahannum and the punishment of the grave

وعن عائشة قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول في دبر كل صلاة: اللهم رب جبريل، وميكائيل، وإسرافيل، أعذني من حر النار، وعذاب القبر.…

One should recite the following duaa after salaah:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الجُبْنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُرَدَّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ العُمُرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ

O Allah, I seek protection in You from cowardice, and I seek protection in You from being returned to extreme old age (where one becomes senile), and I seek Your protection from the trials of this world and I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave.…

After completing the meal, one should recite the following duaa:

اَلحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا الطَّعَامَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِن غَيرِ حَولٍ مِّنِّي وَلَا قُوَّة

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who provided me with this food, and He granted it to me without any effort and ability from me.…

When someone comes to you seeking advice before proceeding on his journey, then one should advise him to adopt taqwa at all times, and to recite the takbeer (Allahu Akbar) whenever he ascends a high land during the journey.…

One should recite the following duaa after salaah:

رَبِّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ (أَوْ تَجْمَعُ) عِبَادَكَ

O my Rabb, save me from Your punishment on the day You resurrect (or gather) Your servants

عن البراء رضي الله عنه قال: كنا إذا صلينا خلف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أحببنا أن نكون عن يمينه، يقبل علينا بوجهه، قال: فسمعته يقول: رب قني عذابك يوم تبعث-أو تجمع-عبادك.…

After completing the meal, one should recite the following duaa:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَ، وَسَقَى وَسَوَّغَهُ وَجَعَلَ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا

All praise is due to Allah Ta’ala who fed (us) food and provided (us with) drink, and caused it (the food and drink) to go down (our throats) easily, and made an exit for it (for the waste to leave our stomachs).…

If one fears harm or danger from an enemy or any creature, then one should recite Surah Quraysh.…

After completing one’s fardh salaah, one should place one’s right hand on his forehead and thereafter pass it over his head and recite the following duaa:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ عَنِّي الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ

In the name of Allah, the One besides whom there is no other deity, the Beneficent, the Merciful.…

After completing the meal, one should recite the following duaa:

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ، وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ

O Allah, put barakah in this food and grant us something better than it

عن ابن عباس، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: إذا أكل أحدكم طعاما فليقل: اللهم بارك لنا فيه، وأطعمنا خيرا منه (سنن أبي داود رقم 3730)

Hazrat ibn Abbaas (Radhiyallahu Anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “When you complete your meal, then recite the following duaa:”

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ، وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ
